Activities

The Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation works with and through partners to help end childhood hunger in the U.S., because no child should be hungry today or risk being hungry again tomorrow.

Locally, we focus on food aid, beyond food aid, youth & women empowerment. We accomplish this mission through the following 3 pillars:

Volunteering

  • Servathon (April and May)
  • Hunger Action Month (September)
  • Food Recovery and Donation
  • Advocacy and Education

Partnerships

  • National Partnerships
  • Give-Back Programs
  • The Big Soup
  • Move Out for Hunger
  • Summer Meals
  • Food Backpacks
  • On-Campus Pantries

Servathon

Sodexo sets the month of April and May aside to join forces globally to fight hunger in local communities. Employees gain gratifying experiences while developing important team-building skills. Servathon activities include fundraisers, food drives, volunteering at food banks, donating surplus food and payroll deductions.

Food Recovery and Donations

Sodexo's top priority after preventing food waste is to feed the hungry. As part of Sodexo's Better Tomorrow roadmap, our Stop Hunger program encourages all of our accounts to divert surplus food by donating to local charities to help feed those most in need. Sodexo donates surplus perishable and non-perishable food to Feeding America members and other local food banks across the country. Donating food that would otherwise go to waste not only feeds hungry people, it helps the environment by reducing food waste.

Community Gardens

The Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation funds many community garden projects through our YSA partnership and the Youth Grant Program. Community gardens provide opportunities for those in need to eat fresh fruits and vegetables they may not have the opportunity to buy. Gardens also educate children on the importance of eating healthy.
