Hero of Everyday Life award recipients receive a $5,000 grant to continue fighting hunger in local communities
GAITHERSBURG, Md., January 1, 2017 — Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation announced that the nomination period for the 2017 Heroes of Everyday Life® opens today, January 1 and closes February 28. The recognition program honors Sodexo employees for their dedication to end hunger in their local communities. Candidates can be nominated by a colleague, friend, employer or may be self-nominated. Selected Heroes of Everyday Life® will receive a $5,000 grant for the hunger-related charity of their choice and an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. to attend the annual Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation Dinner.
To date, the Foundation has recognized 123 Heroes and 41 honorable mentions with grants totaling $384,000 for their hunger-relief charities. The deadline for 2017 nominations is February 28. The 2017 Heroes of Everyday Life will be announced on June 12, 2017 at the 18th annual Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation Dinner. Learn more and apply.
