Hero of Everyday Life award recipients receive a $5,000 grant to continue fighting hunger in local communities
GAITHERSBURG, Md., January 1, 2018 — Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation announced that the nomination period for the 2018 Heroes of Everyday Life® is open now through February 28. Hunger is an issue too big for one person, team, or organization to solve alone. The Heroes of Everyday Life® program honors Sodexo employees who aim to put service before themselves in the fight against hunger. Heroes go above and beyond, giving their time, energy and ideas to help feed some of the 42 million people who are without enough food in the U.S.
Specifically, the program pays tribute to individual Sodexo employees for their dedication to end hunger in their local communities. Candidates can be nominated by a colleague, friend, employer or may be self-nominated. Selected Heroes of Everyday Life® will receive a $5,000 grant for the hunger-related charity of their choice and an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. as a featured guest at the annual Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation Dinner on June 11, 2018.
To date, the Foundation has recognized 128 Heroes and 45 honorable mentions with grants totaling $409,000 for their hunger-relief charities. The deadline for 2018 nominations is February 28. Learn more and apply.
