GAITHERSBURG, Md., May 1, 2020 —This past year marked the 23rd anniversary of the Stop Hunger movement and the 20th anniversary of our Annual Stop Hunger Foundation Dinner. Our theme at the dinner, “Zero Hunger. Let’s End This.,” aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #2, which aims to end all forms of hunger and malnutrition by 2030 by making sure all people – especially children – have enough nutritious food all year.

Childhood hunger in the United States has decreased by 30% since 2010. However, with 11 million children still at-risk of hunger, Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation continues to build on lessons learned over the past 20 years to work smarter – and harder— to not only feed children today, but also ensure that no child will be hungry again tomorrow.

In 2019, through our Stop Hunger efforts and by working together with our hunger-fighting team, we distributed 3.1 million meals and engaged over 37,000 volunteers to help children and adults meet their chronic hunger challenges.
